Mon - Fri 10 am –  6 pm, Sat 10 am –  3 pm

Silimukka Christmas Shop invites you to come and enjoy holiday shopping! Located in downtown Oulu, at Torikatu 7, the shop welcomes visitors from November 20 to December 19, 2024. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm, and Saturdays from 10 am to 3 pm. The shop offers a beautiful selection of locally crafted products, including festive ornaments, woollen socks, mittens, hats, handwoven rugs, wooden crafts, and delicious baked treats.

All proceeds from Silimukka support those in need worldwide. Funds raised contribute to initiatives like women’s literacy programs, education for children with disabilities, and climate change adaptation projects in Tanzania and Cambodia. They also help educate church workers in Nepal and Tanzania, where many congregations face a shortage of educated staff. A Christmas gift from Silimukka brings joy to both the recipient and to those who benefit from the mission work it supports around the globe.

You can also donate your own handmade items to be sold at Silimukka. Donations can be dropped off at the shop during opening hours or they can be delivered to your local parish office. You can also contact one of our mission and international work coordinatorsLinkki avautuu uudessa välilehdessä for more information. By donating crafts or shopping at the Silimukka Christmas Shop, you help spread Christmas cheer to others!

The Agricola city pilgrimage route

Would you like a moment of quietness and peace? The Agricola city pilgrimage route starts from the Oulu Market Square. The beautiful bridge route goes through Linnasaari, Raatti and Pikisaari and ends up back to the Market Square. The 1,5 kilometers long route is accessible for the disabled, etc. The seven key words of pilgrimage - unhurriedness, simplicity, freedom, quietness, lightheartedness, sharing and spirituality - will support you on your way. The questions and prayers help you examine your own life and encounter the sacred. Printed instructions can be aqcuired from the Oulu Cathedral (in English and Finnish), free of charge. Kaupunkipyhiinvaelluksen ja rukouskävelyiden ohjekortteja on saatavilla Oulun tuomiokirkon eteisaulasta suomeksi ja englanniksi, ja ne ovat maksuttomia. During the winter season, Oulu Cathedral is open to the public Mon-Thu from 12 am to 1 pm, on Fridays from 12 am to 1 pm and 16 pm to 19 pm, and on Sundays from 16 pm to 19 pm.
